Happy Earth Day! While the last month has been hard in different ways on each of us, we find hope this Easter season in the challenges we face and remember that each day is a day that the Lord has made!
2020 is a special year, with international celebrations of Earth Day at 50 years and Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si' turning '5'.
We have some online activities to be announced soon for Laudato Si' week (May 16 - 24), but here are some things you can do TODAY to celebrate God's creation:
- Read short reflection of Pope Francis' Earth Day audience
- Roll The Earth Cube and get a small action step to take
- Tune-in to an Earth Day webinar (here is a local discussion about the past 50 years hosted by the Hoosier Environmental Council today at noon)
- Find a spot in your outdoor space or invite some friends online for a short Meditation on Creation by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods / Catholic Climate Covenant.
May your day be filled with peace!
