Dear friends,
Yesterday we began the worldwide celebration of the Season of Creation and celebrated the World Day of Prayer for Creation, yet at the same time we recognize God calls us every day to care for our neighbor and all of His creation.
We are excited to share with you some news of one of our long time commission members and hope to see you Sept 10 at the Green Festival and Sept 13 for a Mass for the Season of Creation with Archbishop Thompson.
In the meantime, start your season off with some encouragement from Pope Francis!

Local Catholic is chosen to lead Pope's global plan to care for the Earth
One of the founding members of the Archdiocesan Creation Care Ministry, John Mundell, was recently chosen as the director of the Laudato Si' Action Platform - the worldwide effort to put Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si’: On Care of Our Common Home” into action.
Learn about John's goals for moving the platform ahead in the recent article from the Criterion weekly newspaper and how we as Catholics can view this work as an extension of our faith.
