The worldwide celebration of the Season of Creation is just around the corner (Sept 1 - Oct 4). We especially invite you to join us for Mass with Archbishop Charles Thompson on Sept 13, enjoy a festival featuring singer/songwriter Carrie Newcomer on Sept 10, and take up the Season of Creation Outdoor Challenge!
As Pope Francis mentions in his 2022 message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, let us be
"...mindful of the exhortation of Saint Paul to rejoice with those who rejoice and to weep with those who weep (cf. Rom 12:15), let us weep with the anguished plea of creation. Let us hear that plea and respond to it with deeds, so that we and future generations can continue to rejoice in creation’s sweet song of life and hope."

Join our Archbishop Charles Thompson and the ArchIndy Creation Care Ministry to celebrate Mass as part of the Season of Creation during which we renew our relationship with the Creator and all creation through prayer, conversion and commitment.
All are invited for light refreshments following Mass.
Sept 10 from 3-7:15pm: Green Festival ~ A Mingling of Art, Eco-Justice & Spirituality
An afternoon hosted by Cumberland Arts in partnership with the ArchIndy Creation Care Ministry, Eastside Creation Care Network and more civic and ecumenical groups.
3-6pm FREE Outdoor Activities (stop by the ArchIndy Creation Care Ministry booth to participate in plarning - making sleeping mats from plastic bags)
6-7:15pm Carrie Newcomer concert with pianist Gary Walters (ticketed event)
Join people from across the Archdiocese to get out and enjoy God's creation this fall by participating in the Season of Creation Outdoor Challenge from Sept - Oct 4. Complete 4 activities to be entered into a drawing for a 2023 Indiana State Park pass and more.

Sept 11 - 14 - Green Team Summit (Hybrid) with Keynote Kathyrn Heyhoe
The Catholic Climate Covenant is an official partner of this year's Faith in Place’s Green Team Summit. With the theme “Rooted Together,” this year’s Summit includes 6 sessions exploring the intersection of spirituality, the environment, and justice. Kathryn Heyhoe is the Director of the Climate Center at Texas Tech University, Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, and author Saving Us, A Climate Scientist's Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World.

Update from Indiana Catholics for Creation (IC4C)
In May over 60 people from across the state attended a Zoom meeting with Senator Braun encouraging them to continue to pursue environmental legislation. Senator Braun and his staff were impressed by the numbers of Catholics in the state who are interested in caring for creation. It was his largest Zoom meeting to date!
Nationally this summer, more than 250 U.S. Catholic institutions sent an open letter to each member of Congress in support of climate legislation for our common home, asking leaders to support climate investments both now and in the future to protect natural resources and promote human dignity as the climate crisis unleashes historic heatwaves, flooding, and forest fires across our nation and world.
IC4C continues to work with the Indiana Catholic Conference on creation care - related legislation at both the state and federal levels. If you would like to receive the occasional communications, please contact Sr. Sheila Fitzpatrick at sheilamarie@benedictine.com.
Indiana Catholics for Creation (coordinated by ArchIndy Creation Care Ministry) is a statewide group of lay people, priests, and religious who are working together to protect our common home. The focus of this group is to support education and advocacy outreach across the state.
